Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and broadest engineering disciplines
 
Mechanical Engineering Department
Mechanical engineering is a diverse subject that derives its breadth from the need to design and manufacture everything from small individual parts and devices to large systems. The role of a mechanical engineer is to take a product from an idea to the marketplace.

One of the founding departments of our college, the MECHANICAL ENGINEERING department with student-faculty ratio of less than 10 to 1 .This allows our students to participate actively in the learning process and provides opportunities for involvement in design competitions, projects, and research. The four year mechanical-engineering program at our college is designed to allow students to take advantage of the unique and outstanding liberal-arts education provided by College.

Strength of material Lab
A material's strength is dependent upon its microstructure. The engineering processes to which a material is subjected can alter this microstructure. The variety of strengthening mechanism that alter the strength of material includes work hardening, solid solution strengthening, precipitation hardening and grain boundary strengthening and can be quantified and qualitively explained.
 
Production Engineering Practice Lab
It is the combination of manufacturing technology with practical science. It encompasses castings, joining process, metal cutting and tool design, metrology machine tools, machine systems, automation, jigs and fixtures and dies and mould design hence it plays important role in efficient product processes. These deals with integrated design and efficient planning of the entire manufacturing systems, which becoming increasingly complex with the emergence of sophisticated, production methods and control systems.
 
Material Science Lab
Material science is an interdisciplinary field involving the properties of matter and its applications to vices away of science and engineering. The science investigates the relationship between the structure of materials and their properties. It includes elements of applied physics and chemistry as well as chemical, mechanical, civil and electrical engineering.
 
Thermal Lab
It is a branch of science that covers energy conversion from one form to another, working of IC engine, mode of heat transfer, principle of RAC. The field of thermal engineering includes a lot of application that can be classified as the combination of thermodynamics and heat transfer such as IC engine, A.C. and refrigeration system. The objective of this lab is to provide the student a good environment to understand important concepts and application in field of IC Engine and refrigeration. Using a combined approach of threotical analysis, numerical calculations and experimental investigations the department aims to develop now or advanced knowledge of the same.
 
Practical Geometry Lab
Engineering drawing a type of technical drawing is used to fully and clearly define requirements of engineered items. It is a graphical language used by engineers and other technical personal associated with the engineering professions. The purpose of engineering drawing is to convey graphically the ideas and information necessary for the construction or analysis of machine structure or system.
 
Machine Drawing Lab
It serves as the link between machine design and manufacturing. The study of MD mainly involves learning of sketch machine parts, showing the relative positions of different components and prepares assembly drawings. It also includes the study of conventions and rules to be followed by the engineer for making accurate drawing that are earlier understand or visualized by others in the machine shop.
